The Scented PaddlerZ is a scent-infused swimbait built around a segmented body and a thin paddle tail. The segments let the body flex and roll, while the thin tail joint means the paddle starts kicking almost as soon as the lure moves — so the bait can be crawled slowly along the bottom or wound quickly near the surface and still keep working. Z-Man describes it as fishable both as a twitchbait and as a swimbait, on fast and slow retrieves alike. Because Z-Man rates ElaZtech as buoyant, the body sits tail-up on the pause rather than lying flat, and the material is rated by Z-Man at 10X the durability of ordinary soft plastic, so a single bait survives repeated fish. How To Fish It

• Slow swimbait retrieve — Fish it on a 1/8–3/8 oz jig head, count it down to the depth holding fish, then wind slowly and steadily so the paddle keeps thumping. Slow enough that you can feel the tail is usually slow enough.
• Twitch and pause — On a weighted swimbait hook, give two short twitches and stop. The buoyant body noses up on the pause and the scent works while the bait hangs.
• Weedless over cover — Rig on a weighted or unweighted swimbait hook through the hook slot and swim it over grass, oyster bars and mangrove roots where trebles would foul.
• Bladed jig or swim jig trailer — Slide it onto a 1/4–1/2 oz bladed jig, nose tight to the head, so the tail tracks straight behind the blade and adds a slow-falling profile on the pause.

• Southeast Asia — Barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack around jetty pilings, river mouths and mangrove edges on the tide; hampala barb (sebarau) and giant snakehead (toman) in reservoirs; queenfish and small grouper off rock walls.
• North America — Inshore redfish, speckled trout, snook and flounder over grass flats and marsh drains; largemouth and smallmouth bass on a swim jig or bladed jig trailer; stripers on flats and tailraces.
