The Sabiki Apollo lure set is crafted with special luminous thread, making it attractive to a wide range of fish species, combined with a UV effect that increases visibility in low light and night fishing. A sabiki (サビキ) is a Japanese bait rig: one trace, a row of short droppers with a small dressed hook on each, and a bait cage or sinker below.

Two things set the Siege apart inside the Apollo range. It is a three-hook string rather than six, and it runs down to a #24 hook. The short string suits tight quarters — a crowded jetty, a short rod, a small boat — because three hooks are quicker to unload and far less likely to tangle. The fine sizes are for genuinely small bait: anchovy, whitebait and juvenile sardine that will not fit a #10. The dressing is deliberately plain, luminous thread with no skin or bead, giving a slim silhouette for clear water and for schools that have refused a busier rig.

How To Fish It

Choose the hook to the bait, not the target — #10 to #14 for kembung and larger scad; #16 to #20 for selar and small sardine; #22 and #24 for anchovy and whitebait.
Charge, then chum — Hold a torch on the thread for 20–30 seconds; the UV element needs no charging, the luminous side fades. Clip the top swivel on, hang a bait cage below to keep the string vertical, lower into the school and shake the rod to release mashed shrimp or krill.
Short jigging — Lift the tip 20–40 cm and lower it under control, repeatedly, so the thread opens and breathes on each drop. Most takes come as the string settles.
Read the taps, never strike — Bites are continuous light tremors, not one knock. Wind steadily, swing a loaded string in rather than lifting it clear, and unhook from the bottom dropper up.

Southeast Asia — Anchovy (bilis), sardine (tamban), yellowstripe scad (selar) and Indian mackerel (kembung) off jetties and kelong, kept alive for grouper, siakap and trevally.
