The Sabiki Apollo lure set is crafted with special luminous thread combined with a UV effect for low light and night fishing, with an oval luminous bead on every dropper. A sabiki (サビキ) is a Japanese bait rig: one trace, a row of short droppers with a small dressed hook on each, and a bait cage or sinker below.

The 4427 carries both light systems, and they are not the same thing. UV materials produce no light — they reflect the ultraviolet already in daylight, which reaches deeper than visible colour, so a UV finish keeps working at depth and under cloud. Luminous material is charged by light and emits its own green glow, which is what you want in true darkness or thick water. Running both lets one rig cover a session from late afternoon into full dark, and the oval bead adds a hard point of light above each hook.

How To Fish It

• Charge the beads and thread — Give the rig 20–30 seconds under a torch before each drop. The UV side needs no charging; the luminous side fades.
• Set up and chum — Clip the top swivel to your line, hang a bait cage below to keep the string vertical, lower it to the school, then shake the rod to spread mashed shrimp or krill.
• Short jigging — Lift the tip 20–40 cm and lower it, repeatedly; the thread breathes and the beads swing on each drop. At a lit jetty, work the dark side of the light edge.
• Read the taps, never strike — Bites are continuous light tremors, not one knock. Wind steadily, swing a loaded string in rather than lifting it clear, unhook from the bottom dropper up, and put keepers in an aerated pail.
