Santec Nylon Fishing Bag 7005 / 7015 Net

A range of lightweight nylon mesh bags for keeping the catch submerged beside the fishing spot. Breathable mesh circulates water through the bag, and the flexible body expands around the catch then folds to almost nothing when empty. A drawstring top ties off to a stable point on the bank or boat. Unlike a single-spec holding bag, this range covers two mesh grades: the 7015 models use a fine 4/8" (half-inch) mesh that contains smaller fish, prawns and live bait, while the 7005 model (#N-30) uses a wider 1 1/4" mesh that flows far more water and suits larger fish. Choose the mesh first, then the length.

How To Use It

• Picking the mesh — Go fine (7015, 4/8") for small fish, prawns or live bait that would slip through a wide mesh. Go wide (7005 #N-30, 1 1/4") for larger fish: the bigger openings move far more water through the bag, keeping the catch in better condition over a long session.
• Picking the size — #N-20, #N-21 and #N-24 are compact bags for short sessions and live bait within arm's reach. #N-30 is the mid-size option. #N-42 and #N-48 give the most capacity, and the extra length drops the catch below the warm surface layer.
• Setting it in the water — Submerge the whole bag, leaving only the drawstring reachable, and tie the cord to a bank stick, rail or cleat before the first fish goes in.
• Keep it deep and out of the sun — Do not let the bag sit in warm shallow water in direct sunlight; shallow water heats quickly and holds little oxygen. Move it into shade or deeper water.
• As a utility bag — The wider-mesh model also carries wet gear, floats and gathered shellfish, draining completely on the walk.
