Santec Nylon Bag Jaring Net (*7014)

The Santec 7014 is a long tubular mesh holding bag — a jaring bag — used to keep the catch submerged beside you while you carry on fishing. Its narrow, deep shape holds a useful load and is easy to lower from a bank, jetty or boat side. The open nylon mesh lets water flow straight through, so circulation continues around the fish and the bag drains instantly when lifted. A cord through the upper section pulls the mouth closed and ties off to a rail, stake or cleat. Every size uses the same fine 3/8" mesh, so you choose on length alone.

How To Use It

• Holding the catch — Lower the bag until the body is fully submerged with only the corded mouth reachable. Tie the cord off before the first fish goes in.
• Keep it deep and shaded — Do not leave it in warm shallow water in direct sun; still shallow water heats fast and holds little oxygen. Set it on the shaded side of the bank, in the deepest water you can reach.
• Which length to pick — #N-24 and #N-30 suit short sessions and shallow banks where a long bag would trail on the bottom. #N-36 and #N-40 are the general-purpose lengths. #N-48 suits deeper margins, where the extra length sets the catch below the warm surface layer.
• As a gathering and carry bag — The fine mesh also suits gathering prawns, cockles and small shellfish, and carrying wet floats and sinkers back from the water.

Rules on retaining and holding fish differ everywhere, and mesh bags are restricted on some fisheries. Please follow your local regulations.
