S.A.S Devil Crank 52mm 11g Mid Floating Hardbody Fishing Lure

The Devil Crank is the mid-depth runner in the S.A.S 52mm crankbait range. It shares the compact 5.2cm, 11g format with the Boss Crank, but carries a shorter front lip on a rounded, deep-bellied body, so it works the middle of the water column rather than digging for the bottom. That makes it the lure to reach for when fish are suspended off cover rather than sitting on it, or when the water is too shallow for a deep diver but too deep for a surface lure. The rounded body gives a wide, aggressive wobble for its size, and an internal rattle carries sound through stained water and low light. Two trebles hang beneath the body and at the tail.

How To Fish It

• Search the middle — Cast, count the lure down a moment if needed, then hold a steady medium retrieve. The short lip settles it into the middle layers and keeps it there without you having to manage the rod.
• Run the cover line — Track it just above weed beds, submerged timber or rock rather than through them. Suspended fish will lift to a bait passing over their heads.
• Twitch and wind — Break the retrieve with a short sharp rod-tip twitch every few turns to make the lure flare off line, then resume winding. Most hits land on the first turn after the twitch.
• Stop and go — Pause for a second or two and let the floating body ease upward before winding again, which is useful over shallow weed or when fish are following without committing.

• Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) over river gravel, giant snakehead (toman) and peacock bass along reservoir weed and timber edges, small barramundi (siakap) in canals.
