S.A.S Dancer Crank 65mm 10g Shallow Floating Hardbody Fishing Lure

The 65mm / 10g Dancer Crank is a shallow-to-medium running floating crankbait built to search water quickly and find fish holding tight to cover. The 10g body loads a rod well for its size, so it casts further than most 65mm baits and lets you fan-cast a bank or weed line without changing lures. The front diving lip pulls the bait into the 1.0–1.5 m band on a steady wind and holds it there for the whole retrieve — with a crankbait the lip, not the retrieve speed, sets the depth. Because the body floats, it backs up towards the surface the moment you stop winding, so it can be walked over the top of snags that would hold a sinking lure.

Key Features

  • Floating body rises as soon as the retrieve is paused
  • Diving lip holds the lure in the 1.0–1.5 m strike zone on a steady wind
  • 10g body gives casting range unusual for a lure this short
  • Detailed scale pattern, contrasting finish and realistic fisheye
  • Belly and rear treble hooks for multiple hooking points
  • Suit's shallow structure, weed edges and rocky banks in lakes, rivers, canals and reservoirs
  • Nine color patterns for clear, stained and low-light water

How To Fish It

  • Steady retrieve to depth — Cast, wind three or four quick turns to drive the lip down, then settle into an even medium retrieve with the rod tip low so the lure runs at its designed depth for the full cast.
  • Deflect off structure — Aim to make contact. Bump the lure into rock, timber, gravel or the edge of a weed bed and let it kick sideways; that deflection triggers far more crankbait strikes than a clean retrieve does.
  • Stop and go — Wind six or eight turns, stop for one to two seconds and let the floating body rise, then wind again. Use it to lift the lure over a snag you have just felt and expect the hit as it starts moving again.
  • Slow roll the edges — In cold or bright conditions wind just fast enough to feel the lip working, keeping the lure grinding along the bottom contour or the outside of a weed line.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) on river bends, giant snakehead (toman) and peacock bass along reservoir timber, small barramundi (siakap) in canals and drains.
  • North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass cranked over gravel and laydowns, plus walleye, crappie and pike on lake flats and creek arms.
  • Japan & East Asia — Black bass in reservoirs and canals, where a short shallow crank is a standard search bait, and catfish (namazu) on dusk retrieves.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, golden perch (yellowbelly) and redfin in impoundments; perch, chub, zander and small pike on European rivers, canals and gravel pits.

Specifications

Model Length Weight Type Working Depth Hooks
Dancer Crank 65 65 mm 10 g Floating 1.0–1.5 m 2 trebles

Available colors: #01, #02, #03, #04, #05, #06, #07, #08, #09. SKU range 396156501 – 396156509.

Recommended Pairing

  • 6–7 ft medium or medium-light rod with a moderate action; a softer tip keeps trebles pinned when a fish surge
  • 10–20 lb braid with a 10–15 lb fluorocarbon leader, or straight 8–12 lb monofilament to run the lure slightly shallower
  • Baitcast or 2500-size spinning reel at a moderate gear ratio, which makes a constant retrieve speed easier to hold. Add a short wire trace where snakehead or pike are present
