The Jado Frog is a 3.5cm, 7g topwater frog that pairs a soft frog-style body with a rotating blade at the tail. The soft body collapses under a strike so the double hook, set tight against the back, can reach flesh instead of being blocked by a rigid shell. The spinning rear blade adds flash and a fizzing surface disturbance a silent frog cannot produce, which matters in stained water. At 7g it loads a light rod yet stays compact enough for pressured ponds where a full-size frog gets refused.

How To Fish It

• Steady blade retrieve — Start winding as it lands, rod tip high, so the tail blade breaks the surface. Hold a constant medium speed along weed edges and drain mouths; do not speed up when a fish shows.
• Walk-the-dog frog steps — Drop the rod tip to the water, keep slight slack and twitch in a steady rhythm so the frog swings left and right across lanes between weed beds.
• Hopping across floating mats — Over duckweed, salvinia or water hyacinth, use short sharp rod-tip lifts to skip it from pocket to pocket, then stop dead in the hole for two or three seconds.
• Pause a beat before setting — Snakehead often push water over the frog without taking it. Keep winding after the blow-up, wait until you feel the fish load the rod, then sweep sideways instead of striking upward.
• Squeeze the body out — After a fish or a drag through matted weed, squeeze the soft body to expel trapped water and air so it sits high on the next cast.
