The Common Frog is a 4.3cm, 6.5g hard resin jump frog — the full-size profile in the range. It is shaped to jump and pop on the surface so that fish can locate it from a distance across open weed flats and wide drains, and the hard resin body holds its shape and its hook position through repeated fish rather than tearing or collapsing like a soft frog. At 6.5g in a 4.3cm body it sits lighter for its length than the smaller Nano Jump, so it hangs on the surface longer during a pause instead of settling. An ultra-fine silicone skirt trails behind, letting it swim through furrowed cover and deflecting it off structure on contact.

How To Fish It

• Jump-and-pop cadence — Short downward rod-tip strokes make it hop and spit water. Two or three taps then a two- to three-second pause; the pause is when most fish commit.
• Walk-the-dog frog steps — Rod tip low with slight slack, twitch evenly so the frog swings left and right down weed lanes and reed walls.
• Search open flats — Its size and surface noise let it cover water. Fan-cast weedy flats and reservoir arms with a rhythmic retrieve to find active fish, then slow down over the spot that produced.
• Pause a beat before setting — The hard body will not compress, so striking at the splash pulls it out of the fish's mouth. Keep winding through the blow-up, wait for the rod to load, then sweep sideways.
• Deflect off cover — Bump it into reeds, stumps and timber on purpose; the change of direction after contact converts followers into strikes.
