The Bufo Let's Go V.3 is a handmade hard-body surface frog on the larger 5cm body, at 12g. Both figures change how it fishes. The extra length gives a bigger silhouette and more room to swing, so it sweeps a wider arc on a twitch instead of hopping straight ahead, and the 12g loads a rod for long casts into wind — what open reservoir arms and exposed banks demand. It also sits lower in the film than the 4.5cm frogs, so a slow steady wind pushes a real wake rather than skating over the top. The colourful resin body carries bold markings, and a flexible silicone skirt spreads and pulses on the retrieve and through the pause. The rear hook sits close to the body for light vegetation and grass edges, though no lure is completely snag-free.

How To Fish It

• Long searching casts — Use the 12g to reach far weed lines, windward banks and mid-water timber, then work it the whole way back. This is the job the 8g and 8.5g frogs in the range cannot do.
• Slow wake retrieve — Wind steadily so the body settles into the film and drags a V-wake. The mass keeps it tracking straight where a lighter frog starts skipping.
• Wide twitch and pause — Two or three twitches, then a two- to three-second stop. The 5cm body swings further to each side than the 4.5cm versions, so leave slack and let it finish the sweep.
• Grass edges and open pockets — Best over light grass, sparse pads and clean holes. On thick matted salvinia the 12g pushes into the mat; use sharper downward taps or step down to a lighter version.
• Pause before setting — Striking at the splash pulls a hard body clear. Wind through the blow-up, wait for the rod to load, then sweep sideways.
