Little Jack Gyocks 47mm 5.5g Lipless Sinking Minnow

The Gyocks 47mm is the lipless member of the Gyocks family — a compact, high-density sinking minnow for finesse work in fresh and salt water. It is a different lure from the lipped Gyocks Minnow-46: that model runs at a set depth behind its lip with a tight wobble and a rattle, while this one has no lip at all. Without a lip the 47mm glides and darts rather than tracking a fixed line, and its front-loaded 5.5g body gives a nose-down sinking posture you can count down precisely. The extra 2.5g over the 46mm also buys noticeably longer casts on light tackle, useful when pressured fish hold beyond comfortable range. Detailed baitfish printing and a durable resin body finish a lure aimed at technical anglers in clear or confined water.

How To Fish It

• Countdown and steady wind — Count it down in seconds until you find fish or tick structure, then wind slowly at that count. With no lip it stays where you put it rather than climbing.
• Twitch and fall — Two or three short twitches with the rod tip low, then a pause of one to two seconds while it sinks nose-down. The change of direction into the fall is the trigger.
• Lift and drop over structure — Work it up and down the face of jetty pilings, seawalls and rock edges. Keep a semi-slack line so the glide on the drop stays free.
• Drift in current — Cast up-current and let the flow swing it through a seam, feeding line to keep it in the zone longer.
