The WH-2 is a forged offset hook for rigging soft-plastic worms, creature baits, grubs and shads. The stepped shank behind the eye grips the head of the plastic so the bait stays square through casting and retrieve instead of sliding down and bunching. A chemically sharpened eagle-cutting point enters with less resistance, and the straight point directs pulling force efficiently through the hookset. The solid ringed eye gives a dependable connection while letting the bait swing freely, under a corrosion-resistant tinted finish.

This is the small-bait end of the WH range. It is the only one of the four listed from #6, and it stops at #4/0, so it covers finesse plastics and mid-size worms. For the biggest creature baits step up to the WH-1, WH-3 or WH-4, which run to #5/0.

How To Rig It

• Weedless Texas rig — Thread a bullet sinker on and tie direct. Enter the nose of the plastic, exit through the belly a centimetre down, slide the bait up over the offset step until the head sits at the eye, rotate the hook 180° and lay it back along the body. Bury the point just inside the skin, not through it.
• Finesse work — In #6 to #2 it rigs small craws, grubs and 2–3in worms weightless or on a light bullet. Fish slow, with long pauses on the bottom.
• The weedless trade-off — A buried point passes weed and brush without fouling, but must cut back out through the plastic on the strike. Wind down tight and set hard and low.
• Size to bait — #6–#4 for 2in plastics, #2–#1 for 3in, #1/0–#2/0 for 4in worms, #3/0–#4/0 for 5in worms and creature baits.

• Southeast Asia — Sebarau (hampala barb) and peacock bass on reservoir points, haruan in weedy drains and paddy channels, small siakap and mangrove jack around timber.
• North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on Ned and finesse Texas rigs; crappie and perch on the smallest sizes.
• Japan & East Asia — Black bass on finesse rigs in pressured water, and rockfish (kasago, mebaru) on small worms where a buried point stays out of the rocks.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass and estuary bream on light plastics; perch and zander on weedless worms in European lakes and canals.
