A sutte is the simpler cousin of the egi: instead of being cast and jerked like a shrimp jig, it is hung on the branch lines of a vertical rig, dropped straight down under the boat and worked with slow lifts — the mainstream candat sotong method. The Ultra Sutte 3682 takes that format and adds the feature that matters most after dark: a 2.2 mm chemical light stick slots into the body, turning the bait itself into a bright point of attraction that squid can find from well outside the reach of the boat lights. The body is a textured baitfish shape in ABS and nylon with high-contrast eyes and side feathers that flutter on the lift and drop, and a multi-prong crown hook gives a wide contact area. How To Fish It

• Insert the stick, then drop — Crack and seat a 2.2 mm light stick before the drop. Use it in genuinely dark water: deep drops, moonless nights, or away from the boat lamp where nothing else is glowing. Under a bright lamp the stick adds little; out in the dark it is the reason the squid finds you.
• Rig it vertical — Run one or several on the branch lines of a dropper trace above a sinker, lower under the boat or off the jetty, and work the whole rig together.
• Count down and repeat — Drop to the bottom and wind up a set number of turns, or count the fall in seconds. Once a squid comes, repeat that exact count — squid hold in layers.
• Lift, drop, hold — Lift 30–50 cm, lower under control, then stop dead for several seconds. Almost every take comes in the pause and feels like the rig going heavy, going light, or refusing to sink further.
• Never strike, never slack — A squid hugs the bait with its arms rather than biting. Sweep smoothly into the weight, then wind slow and even under constant tension. A hard hookset tears tentacles; slack loses the squid at the surface.
• Fish the shadow line — Squid hold at the dark edge of the lit water, not in the glare. Working a light-stick sutte through that edge is exactly what the format is for.
