HINOTSU - SPLIT RING 12PCS/BAG 6341 FISHING ACCESSORIES
Hinotsu Split Ring 6341 — 12 Pcs Per Bag
The Hinotsu 6341 is a high-strength S-type split ring for attaching assist hooks, lures, jigs and terminal tackle. Its forged, high-tensile stainless-steel construction resists stretching, opening and permanent deformation under load, and the overlapping S-type profile still lets hooks and lures swing freely for a natural presentation. Corrosion-resistant throughout, it is offered in both Normal Duty and Heavy Duty configurations so the ring can be matched to the tackle. Supplied 12 pieces per bag.
The split ring is the working joint of a jigging rig — the one part you are meant to open, change and replace. Because it is coiled wire with a seam, it is inherently weaker than a seamless solid ring of the same size, and braid or thin assist cord can be drawn into that seam and cut. Hence the standard chain: PE braid main line → FG knot → leader → solid ring → split ring → jig. The solid ring is the permanent anchor carrying the knot and assist cords; the split ring hangs the jig and gets swapped whenever you change lures or the coil shows wear.
Key Features
- High-strength S-type construction — overlapping design for a secure connection under pressure
- Forged and high tensile, engineered to resist stretching, opening and deformation
- Stainless-steel material for strength, durability and dependable long-term performance
- Saltwater corrosion resistance for harsh marine environments and repeated offshore use
- Improved lure movement — assist hooks and jigs move freely for a more natural action
- Smooth contact surface reduces abrasion to assist cord and connected tackle
- Suitable for slow jigging, popping, trolling, offshore casting and big-game rigs
- Two strength categories: Normal Duty and Heavy Duty, 12 pieces per bag
How To Rig It
- Assemble in order — Braid to leader with an FG or PR knot, leader knotted to a solid ring, this split ring onto the solid ring, jig onto the split ring. Nothing tied or looped should sit directly on the split ring's seam.
- Open it with split ring pliers — Slip the pliers' hooked tip between the coil ends, walk the solid ring or jig eye into the gap, then slide it all the way around before letting go. Fingernails and knife tips leave the coil sprung.
- Normal Duty or Heavy Duty — Normal Duty covers light and mid-weight jigging, shore casting metals and reef fish at moderate drag. Heavy Duty is for locked drags, deep-wreck fish that must be stopped short of structure, and PE 4 and above. When in doubt, take the heavier one.
- Check the ring after each fish — Look at it end-on. Coil ends no longer flush, or a ring gone oval, means it has stretched and will open next time. Replace it there and then.
- Change the whole set — Rinse in fresh water after every trip; retire rings once salt crusts inside the coil or rust bloom shows, and after a long fight replace solid ring, split ring and assist cord together.
