The Hinotsu 7722 is the quiet, lure-protecting snap in the Hinotsu range — mechanically a strong locking snap, but the only one with a soft silicone tube fitted over the rounded lure-contact section. That sleeve does two jobs a bare wire snap cannot. It damps the metal-on-metal click of the snap tapping against a hard-bait split ring or jig eye on every twitch, which matters in shallow, clear or heavily pressured water where fish have heard that noise before. And it stops the wire chewing a bright wear mark into the lure's eyelet, so an expensive minnow keeps its finish and its eye is not slowly filed thin. An extra-secure locking structure resists opening under strong tension, and the high-strength wire supports casting and fighting larger fish. The rounded contact area still leaves the lure room to move freely. Nickel finished for corrosion resistance, supplied 7 pieces per bag in sizes #0 to #3.

How To Rig It

• Where it goes in the rig — Tie the leader to the closed bend of the snap and clip the lure's front eye or split ring onto the silicone-sleeved section, not against the gate. The sleeve only earns its keep if the lure is actually riding on it.
• When the quiet connection matters — Shallow clear flats, calm mornings, jetty lights and pressured reservoir edges, where a hard bait is being twitched constantly and every pause sends a metallic tick down to the fish. It is also the snap to use on painted minnows and jerkbaits whose eyelets you want to keep unmarked.

• Rinse in fresh water after saltwater use — Rinse and dry the terminal set after every trip; salt trapped under the silicone sleeve is the part anglers miss. Replace any snap where the sleeve has split or slid off the contact area, or where rust shows at the closure.
