HINOTSU - SOLID RING 10PCS/BAG 6340 SOLID RING FISHING ACCESSORIES
Hinotsu Solid Ring 6340 — 10 Pcs Per Bag
The Hinotsu 6340 is a heavy-duty, closed stainless-steel connection ring for demanding saltwater systems. Unlike a split ring it has no opening, no overlapping coil and no seam — it is a single seamless loop, which is why it sits at the highest-load point of a jigging or popping rig. Made from specially treated stainless steel, it combines high pulling strength with strong corrosion resistance, and its smooth rounded profile protects knots, leader material and assist cord under sustained pressure. Supplied ten to a bag in five sizes.
Why both ring types exist matters more than any single number. A split ring opens with pliers, so it is the part you change on the water — but it is coiled wire with a seam, and braid or thin assist cord can work into that seam and be cut. A solid ring has nowhere for line to enter and nothing to spring open, so it carries the knot. The standard offshore chain is PE braid main line → FG knot → leader → solid ring → split ring → jig: the solid ring is the anchor, the split ring is the consumable.
Key Features
- Solid closed-ring construction — a strong connection with no split opening
- Specially treated stainless steel, engineered beyond standard stainless for demanding conditions
- High breaking strength for heavy offshore tackle and powerful fish
- Saltwater corrosion resistance for repeated exposure to harsh marine environments
- Smooth rounded profile reduces abrasion and stress on knots, leaders and assist cords
- Compact and lightweight, adding minimal bulk while maintaining strength
- Versatile use — assist hooks, leaders, swivels, lures and terminal tackle
- Five sizes, supplied 10 pieces per bag
How To Rig It
- Build the chain in order — Braid to leader with an FG or PR knot, leader to the solid ring, split ring onto the solid ring, jig onto the split ring. Every load path then runs through metal that cannot open.
- Use split ring pliers, never your fingers — Open the split ring with the pliers' hooked tip, walk the solid ring into the coil, then slide it fully around before releasing. Prying a heavy ring open by hand leaves a permanent gap.
- Hang assist hooks off the same ring — Front assist cords loop onto the solid ring, not the split ring, so the cord never contacts a seam. This is the most common cause of an assist failure blamed on the hook.
- Retire the set after a serious fish — Any ring that has taken a long fight has been stretched even if it still looks round. Change solid ring, split ring and assist cord together.
- Size to the rig, not the jig — Step up as jig weight, drag setting and leader diameter increase, and check the split ring seats freely inside the solid ring without binding.
