HINOTSU - SOLID 8 RING 5PCS/BAG 6342 SOLID RING
Hinotsu Solid 8 Ring 6342 — 5 Pcs Per Bag
The Hinotsu 6342 is a figure-eight solid ring: two closed loops joined into one forged piece, giving two separate, independent connection points instead of one shared eye. In an assist rig that separation does real work. The leader and jig connect to one loop and the assist hook cords to the other, so the hook is held clear of the leader knot rather than crowding it. The assist swings more freely and engages more cleanly, and the leader stops rubbing against hook shanks and split rings every time the jig flutters. Constructed from forged, high-tensile stainless steel, it resists stretching, corrosion and wear in demanding saltwater conditions, and is supplied five to a bag in size #M.
Like any solid ring, both loops are seamless — no coil, no gap, nothing for braid or thin assist cord to work into and be cut by. That is why solid rings carry knots and cords while split rings carry the jig: PE braid main line → FG knot → leader → solid ring → split ring → jig. An 8 ring simply gives you two of those safe anchor points in one component.
Key Features
- Figure-eight dual-ring design separates the assist hook from the leader and jig connection
- Enhanced hook movement gives the assist more freedom to swing and engage
- Helps protect the leader by reducing rubbing, abrasion and cutting from nearby hardware
- Heavy-duty construction from specially selected stainless-steel material
- Forged and high-tensile for increased strength under heavy loading
- Stretch-resistant design maintains its shape during demanding fights
- Corrosion-resistant finish suitable for freshwater and saltwater use
- Compact, low-profile connector for clean and organised jigging rigs
- Supplied 5 pieces per bag in size #M
How To Rig It
- Split the loads across the two loops — Tie the leader to the upper loop and clip the split ring and jig to it as well; loop the assist cords onto the lower loop. The knot and the hooks then never share a bearing surface.
- Standard chain, one component richer — Braid, FG knot, leader, 8 ring, split ring, jig. The 8 ring replaces a plain solid ring wherever you want the assists isolated from the leader.
- Use split ring pliers — Open the split ring with the hooked tip of proper pliers, walk one loop of the 8 ring into the coil, and slide it fully around before releasing. A coil levered open by hand never closes properly again.
- Twin assist setups — Run both front assist cords onto the free loop so they hang symmetrically and cannot cross the leader when the jig falls sideways.
- Retire as a set — Any ring that has fought a heavy fish, or shows rust bloom or salt crusting, is replaced along with the split ring and assist cords. Rinse everything in fresh water each trip.
