Hinotsu Rolling Swivel With Crosslock 7715

The Hinotsu 7715 combines a 360-degree rolling swivel with a reinforced crosslock snap in a single terminal component, so one connector handles both jobs: killing line twist and letting you change lures without cutting and retying the leader. The crosslock is the point of difference. Where a simple open snap is a single bent wire that can spring apart under sustained tension, the crosslock's overlapping locking section captures the wire end inside the frame, so load pulls the gate closed rather than levering it open. Available in sizes #6 to #2/0 with rated strengths from 55 lb up to 308 lb, it suits hard lures, metal jigs, sinkers, leaders and heavy saltwater rigs. Made in Japan.

How To Rig It

• Straight to the leader — Tie the leader to the swivel eye, clip the lure into the crosslock, and fish. This is the fastest working system when you are covering water and swapping between minnows, spoons and jigs.
• Close it properly every time — Push the wire end fully back inside the lock frame until it seats. A crosslock that is only half closed behaves like an open snap and will let go under drag.
• Trolled and rotating lures — Spoons, spinners and skirted rigs spin on the troll and twist line badly. Running the 7715 ahead of them puts the swivel where the twist is generated and keeps the change quick.
• Sinker and paternoster work — Clip sinkers into the crosslock instead of tying them, so you can go heavier or lighter as the tide builds without rebuilding the rig.
• Match the rating to the drag — Pick the size by rated strength against your leader and drag setting, not by how well it looks against the lure. Rinse in fresh water after every saltwater session and retire any snap with rust in the gate.
