HINOTSU - ROLLING SWIVEL OYAKO 7714 FISHING SWIVEL
Hinotsu Rolling Swivel Oyako 7714
The Hinotsu 7714 Oyako is a heavy-duty three-way swivel system built for multi-leader, branching and live-bait rigs. Oyako (親子) means "parent and child": a larger parent swivel is permanently linked to a smaller child swivel, giving three connection points — main line in, sinker line down, and hook or branch leader out to the side. Because the two swivels rotate independently, a bait spinning on the dropper cannot pass its twist up the main line, and a fish rolling on the hook length does not lock the sinker line. That is the whole point of the Oyako, and it is what a plain two-eye swivel cannot do.
Each unit uses a compact barrel body, rounded connection eyes and a corrosion-resistant black-nickel finish. Sizes come as matched parent/child pairs, so the branch arm is always a step lighter than the main arm. Within the range the 7712 is the plain rolling swivel, the 7715 adds a crosslock snap and the 7716 is the stainless-steel version; the 7714 is the only one that branches.
Key Features
- Three-way Oyako design giving three connection points for main line, sinker line and branch leader
- Linked parent and child swivels rotate independently so each section of the rig moves freely
- Anti-twist performance against spinning bait, rotating lures and fish rolling under pressure
- Smooth 360-degree rotation maintained even when tension is applied
- High pulling strength for demanding rigs and powerful freshwater or saltwater fish
- Black-nickel coating protects against corrosion, rust and surface wear
- Rounded eyes give secure attachment for knots, split rings, snaps and leaders
- Seven matched size pairs from #4 x #5 up to #4/0 x #3/0
- Suited to live-bait fishing, bottom fishing, drifting, trolling and multi-branch rigs
How To Rig It
- Standard bottom rig — Main line to the parent eye, sinker line off the bottom eye, hook length off the child swivel. Keep the sinker line lighter than the hook length so a snagged sinker breaks off and the fish and hook come back.
- Live-bait dropper — Hang the bait on the child swivel and let the parent absorb the rotation as the bait swims circles. This is the rig's main job in Southeast Asian bottom and drift fishing.
- Two-hook paternoster — Run two Oyako swivels in the leader, spaced about a rod length apart, with a short trace off each child eye. Keep each trace shorter than the gap between swivels or they will tangle.
- Trolled and drifted dead bait — Use the branch for a keel weight or a second lighter bait so the main line stays free to swivel while the rig is under constant load.
- Size to the rig — Choose the pair by the main arm: heavier parent for deeper water, stronger current and bigger sinkers. Check both barrels still spin freely before every drop.

- Run the sinker line one class lighter than the hook length so snags cost only the weight
- Pair with a circle or octopus hook on the branch for bait work, and a rated snap on the sinker eye for fast weight changes
