HINOTSU - DOUBLE HOOKS FAST JIG HOOK 4786 FISHING HOOK MADE IN JAPAN
Hinotsu Double Hooks Fast Jig Hook 4786 — Made In Japan
The 4786 is a rigid double hook: two points on one shank sharing a single centrally positioned eye. It is not an assist rig. Where an assist hook hangs on a cord and swings independently of the lure, this hangs straight off the split ring the way a treble does — and that is the choice it represents. Fixed to the lure, it holds position on a fast, hard-driven retrieve, keeps the lure tracking straight instead of being pulled off line by a swinging hook, and gives two points of coverage with only two arms to catch rope, net or weed. Forged from Japanese carbon steel with needle-cutting points and a rounded bend, it suits fast jigs, pintails, hard-bodied lures and frogs.
Key Features
- Double-hook configuration — two points for wider hooking coverage than a single
- Centre-balanced eye keeps the hook aligned and the lure swimming true
- Needle-cutting points for fast, deep penetration with less resistance
- Straight-point design that directs pressure efficiently into the hook-set
- Forged construction — reinforced bends resist opening under heavy pressure
- Japanese carbon-steel body balancing sharpness, strength and durability
- Rounded bend creating a deep holding area once the hook is set
- Two finishes: reflective Silver and low-visibility Black
- Five sizes, #2 to #3/0, six hooks per pack
How To Rig It
- Which way the points face — Mount it points-up, towards the back of the lure, on a fast jig or hard lure. Points down means the hook lies on the bottom every time the lure touches, which is where most snags start. On a frog the points ride up against the body and only stand clear when a fish crushes it.
- Replacing a treble — Fit it to the tail split ring in place of a treble when structure, weed or rock means the third point is only costing you lures. Expect slightly fewer connections on short, swiping bites and considerably fewer snags. Over open, clean water a treble still converts more half-hearted takes.
- On a fast jig — Run it at the tail on a straight, fast retrieve so the double trails behind the profile. Because it is fixed rather than tethered, it will not wrap the leader at high speed the way a long assist cord can.
- Front and rear together — Doubles can run at both ends of a pintail or long hard lure; if you do, size the front hook down so the two cannot reach each other and lock up on the cast.
- Attachment — Always hang it on a split ring rated for the fish you are chasing, never straight through a lure's fixed eye. Check ring and point after every fish; a point that slides across a thumbnail instead of catching needs replacing.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Tenggiri (Spanish mackerel), queenfish and small gerepoh (giant trevally) on fast jigs and pintails; barramundi (siakap) around jetties and pilings; giant snakehead (toman) and peacock bass on frogs and hard lures where a treble fouls in weed and timber.
- North America — Largemouth bass on hollow-body frogs over pads and mats; striped bass, bluefish and false albacore on fast metals; pike and musky, where a fixed double does less damage than multiple trebles.
- Japan & East Asia — Shore jigging and casting game for sawara and tachiuo, and as a treble replacement on pencils and pintails where anglers want fewer points near the leader.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, barramundi and saratoga on frogs and hard lures; queenfish and cobia in the Gulf; pike, zander and perch on European lakes, where singles and doubles are increasingly preferred for fish care.
