HINOTSU - BALL BEARING HARD ROUND SNAP 7711 FISHING SNAP
Hinotsu Ball Bearing Hard Round Snap 7711 Fishing Snap
The Hinotsu 7711 is the only snap in the Hinotsu range with a ball-bearing swivel built into it — a hard round snap and a bearing swivel in one piece, for metal jigs, spinning lures and trolling rigs where line twist is the real problem. A plain snap cannot rotate: it hands every turn the lure makes straight up the leader into the braid. A pressed-eye swivel does rotate, but under load its faces grind together and effectively lock up — exactly when a spinning lure is generating the most twist. The bearing race in the 7711 keeps turning smoothly at speed and under tension, so twist is shed at the lure instead of accumulating as coils, wind knots and a weakened main line. The rounded snap gives a spacious connection area so lures still move freely, the chamfered body reduces water resistance and snagging, and the secure locking arm holds the gate shut during casting, trolling and fights. Nickel-coated, in sizes #0 to #3.
Within the Hinotsu snap family: the egg snap 7721 is the light, compact option; the hard round snap 7717 is the general-purpose workhorse; the Special Nice snap 7722 adds a silicone-sleeved contact area for quiet connection; the diamond insurance snap 7723 adds a second interlocking closure for big fish and structure; and the 7711 is the bearing option — the one to use whenever the lure itself spins.
Key Features
- Ball-bearing swivel mechanism for smooth, high-speed rotation, including under tension
- 360° anti-twist action releases rotational force and reduces line twist, tangles and line stress
- Hard-round snap profile gives lures and rigs a spacious connection area to move naturally
- Extra-secure locking arm designed to stay closed during casting, trolling and hard fights
- Chamfered swivel body reduces water resistance and unwanted snagging
- Nickel-coated finish protects against corrosion, rust and surface wear
- Fast tackle changes without cutting and retying the leader
- Four sizes: #0, #1, #2, #3
How To Rig It
- Where it goes in the rig — Tie the leader to the swivel eye at the top and clip the lure into the snap below, so the bearing sits between line and lure. It replaces a swivel plus separate snap, removing one connection from the rig.
- Why the bearing matters here — Use it with metal jigs, spoons, spinners, inline blades and skirted trolling lures. On a plain snap those lures put twist into the leader every second they are in the water, and on a jammed pressed swivel they keep doing it under drag pressure. This is the piece that stops it.
- Matching size to tackle — #0 and #1 for light casting, small metals and light shore jigging; #2 and #3 for larger jigs, inshore trolling and mid-size pelagics. Match the class of tackle and the fish, not the lure weight alone.
- When the snap becomes the weakest link — This series is sold by size, not by a printed lb rating. On locked drags and around structure, run the snap off a solid ring rather than tying straight to a heavy leader knot, or move to a rated jig snap such as the SP-1 7719, listed at 180 lb (S) and 230 lb (M).
- Rinse in fresh water after saltwater use — Salt inside a bearing race is what kills it. Rinse and dry the swivel after every saltwater trip, then spin it between your fingers before the next session; any grinding or hesitation means it is no longer doing its job and should be replaced.

Recommended Pairing
- Light to medium spinning, baitcasting and light jigging outfits with 2500–6000 size reels
- Braided main line joined to a fluorocarbon or nylon leader with an FG or improved albright knot
- Use with metal jigs, spoons, spinners and trolled lures; a plain snap such as the 7717 or 7721 is sufficient for minnows and soft plastics that do not rotate
- For heavy jigging, pair with a solid ring and split ring so the snap carries the jig only
