The Fast Soft Lure is a glow-bodied saltwater soft plastic built to get down to the fish quickly and stay controllable once it is there. Hearty Rise shaped the cross-section as a diamond waterline, so the lure reaches the swimming layer without being pushed around by the flow and casts further. A side guideline with reverse resistance lets the body swing more freely on the retrieve. The plastic carries high-intensity glow for low light, deep water and night fishing, and Hearty Rise specify polyphenylene ether (PPE) for tear resistance. Offered in 4" and 5" bodies, 8 pieces per pack, in three glow finishes.

How To Fish It

• Charge the glow first — Hold a torch or UV light against the body for 15 to 30 seconds every few casts. A freshly charged body is far brighter, and the glow fades with each drop.
• Deep slow retrieve — Use a jig head heavy enough to hold bottom in the tide, let it hit, wind five to ten turns slowly, then drop it back. Cover the bottom two metres, not the whole column.
• Vertical lift and drop — Under the boat or off a deep jetty, lift the rod from 9 to 11 o'clock and let it fall on a controlled line. Nearly every bite comes on the fall, so watch the line.
• Night jetty and bridge lights — Cast into the dark water beyond the light line and retrieve slowly back through the shadow edge, where predators sit facing the glow.

• Southeast Asia — Barramundi (siakap) around bridge and jetty lights, grouper (kerapu) and mangrove jack over reef and rubble, red snapper (ikan merah) on deeper drop-offs, plus queenfish off rock walls.
• North America — Redfish, speckled trout and flounder inshore at night; black sea bass, striped bass and lingcod on deeper structure.
• Japan & East Asia — Hirame and mago-chi on sandy ground, plus rockfish and larger mebaru on night light game and shallow slow-pitch jigging.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Barramundi, flathead and mulloway in northern Australian estuaries; hamour and other Gulf grouper over rubble; pollack, cod and bass on European reef and wreck marks.
