Hayabusa SS021 Twist Skin Keimura Rainbow Sabiki (6 Hooks Per Pack)

The SS021 belongs to Hayabusa’s Jissen Sabiki (実戦サビキ, “practical sabiki”) line — boat dropper rigs whose lengths, hook sizes and line balance come out of years of working the fishery rather than a catalogue. Each of the six hooks carries a twist skin dressing in a rainbow finish with a keimura UV coating over it, so the rig works on two separate light channels at once. It is a 2.75 m rig with snap swivels at both ends, ready to clip between main line and sinker.

Key Features

• Keimura (ケイムラ) — a UV-reactive coating. It absorbs the ultraviolet light present in seawater and re-emits a blue-violet glow that human eyes barely register but fish see clearly. This is not luminous paint: it needs no charging, never fades, and is strongest in bright daylight at depth, where UV still penetrates after red and orange have been filtered out.
• Twist skin (ツイスト) — the skin strip is twisted rather than laid flat, so current makes it rotate on its own axis and flicker instead of hanging still.
• Rainbow finish underneath the UV coating for visible-light flash in shallower, brighter water
• Coloured luminous accents for deep and low-light work
• Fluorocarbon branch lines for a less visible presentation in clear water

How To Fish It

• Charge the ami-kago — Sabiki fishing (サビキ釣り) is bait-driven. Fill the cage with mashed Antarctic krill (ami-ebi) and clip it to the rig.
• Find the layer first — Drop to the depth showing bait on the sounder and stop there rather than fishing blind on the bottom.
• Shake, then hold — Two or three sharp lifts empty krill from the cage. Then stop dead: the six twist skins hang in the cloud and the fish take them for krill.
• Fish it in daylight — Keimura earns its keep under a bright sun and in deeper water. On a black night with no light in the column, a glow-dressed rig is the more logical choice.
• Wind, never strike — Multiple hookups read as continuous light tremors. Keep winding steadily; a hard lift pulls hooks from soft mouths.
