The FS306 is a 1.5" micro soft bait from Hayabusa's LRF and light game range — the smaller, more general-purpose companion to the 1.9" FS305 grub tail. Where the FS305 leans on a curl tail that keeps rolling at the slowest speeds, the FS306 uses a segmented body finished with a thin paddle tail, giving a tighter, more baitfish-like kick and a cleaner profile on a tiny jig head. Hayabusa describe the material as ultra-soft and buoyant while still tough enough to survive repeated fish, and specify the thin paddle for slow rolling on a weighted or weedless hook. How To Fish It

• Tada-maki (straight slow retrieve) — On a 0.3 to 1.5 g head, wind at a constant, deliberately slow pace. The paddle needs a fraction more speed than a curl tail, so wind just fast enough to feel a steady tick in the tip.
• Lift and fall — Lift the rod from 9 to 11 o'clock, then lower it and let the head sink on a controlled slack line. With the buoyant body the tail sits up during the pause instead of collapsing flat.
• Read the line, not the rod — On a sub-gram head the bite is a tick in the line or a fall that stops early. Keep the line lightly loaded and strike off what you see.
• Night light edges — Cast beyond a jetty or bridge light into the dark water and swim it back along the shadow line, where fish hold facing the glow.

• Southeast Asia — Small grouper (kerapu) around jetty pilings and rock walls, golden threadfin bream (kerisi), juvenile barramundi (siakap) and the mixed light-tackle bag at port and river-mouth lights.
