Duel Hardcore Popper 70mm 10.5g R1379 70F Floating
The Hardcore Popper 70F is a level-floating popper, meaning it sits horizontally at rest rather than tail-down like most cup-faced surface lures. That flat attitude does two things: the lure reads as a baitfish holding on the surface rather than a plug hanging in the water, and the cup stays in the film so the first jerk makes sound immediately. A double cup mouth controls the output: a soft pull spits and bubbles, a hard pull gives a full pop. The magnetic weight transfer system sends an internal weight to the tail on the cast and returns it on landing, which is how a 70mm 10.5g body reaches 40m. A triple mirror finish carries flash, and the feathered rear treble keeps moving through the pause.
Key Features
- Level floating: sits horizontally at rest, not tail-down
- Double cup mouth: spit, bubble or pop from the same lure
- Magnetic weight transfer, rated to a 40m maximum cast
- Feathered rear treble that keeps working while paused
- Ribbed belly that leaves a bubble trail on the retrieve
- 3D holographic eyes and scale patterning; #4 trebles on #3 split rings
How To Fish It
- Pop and pause — A sharp downward jerk loads the cup; stop for two to four seconds while the feather breathes. Set on weight, not on the splash; fish often miss the first swipe and come back.
- Spit and bubble — Softer, shorter pulls on semi-slack line make it spit and bubble rather than pop. This is the presentation for calm mornings and clear water where a hard pop pushes fish away.
- Walk it — Rod tip low, rhythmic twitches on slack line, and the level-floating body walks side to side. Useful for covering a bank quickly before popping over the best cover.
- Target hard cover — Cast tight to laydowns, pontoons, weed edges and pilings. Let the landing rings settle before the first pop, then work the lure out of the strike zone slowly.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) and haruan over pads and timber, peacock bass in reservoirs, hampala barb (sebarau) on river bends, barramundi (siakap) at mangrove edges.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass around cover and shallow flats, speckled trout and small redfish inshore.
- Japan & East Asia — Black bass in lakes, ponds and rivers, the fishery this popper was designed for; also seabass in calm harbours.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, saratoga and estuary barramundi; pike, perch and asp in European canals; queenfish over Gulf flats.

Recommended Pairing
- 6'3"–7' medium baitcasting or spinning rod with a tip soft enough to work slack line
- 12–16 lb monofilament, or 20–30 lb braid with a 16–25 lb mono leader
- Monofilament suits this lure — it floats and keeps the nose from being pulled under
- Add a short heavy trace where toothy species are present
