Decoy SV-34H S.G. Head Heavy Jig Head — Made In Japan
The H in SV-34H is Heavy, and it is not a small step up. Where the standard S.G. Head covers ordinary saltwater soft-bait work, the SV-34H takes the same design into a super-heavyweight specification for deep ground and oversized fish. This is the head you move to when tide or a drifting boat means a light head never reaches bottom before the line angle goes flat, or when the fish are big enough to open a normal jig head hook. At 60 g and 80 g it turns a soft plastic into a genuine deep-water bait for grouper and powerful pelagics. Like the standard S.G. Head it carries an assist eye, so a blade or a small teaser can be added without touching the main hook. W Nickel finish, two per pack.
Key Features
- Super-heavyweight S.G. Head for deep water and oversized fish
- Assist eye for adding a blade or assist hook as a custom tune
- Heavy-gauge #7/0 and #10/0 hook; W Nickel finish for saltwater service
- Two heads per pack
- Factory range: #5/0 at 28 and 36 g, #7/0 at 45 and 60 g, #10/0 at 80 and 100 g
- Companion to the standard SV-34 S.G. Head for shallower water
How To Rig It
- When to go heavy — Move up when the line leaves the rod tip at under about 45 degrees on the drop. In tide that sweeps the bait off the mark, 60 g regains bottom contact and 80 g holds it in a fast drift.
- Rigging the plastic — Use 5–8 inch shads, curly tails or hog bodies to match the gape. Thread the nose square so the body sits straight; a bend at this size kills the tail and spins the rig.
- Vertical lift and drop — Fish it like a jig: drop to bottom, wind up two or three turns, then lift and let it fall on a controlled line. Grouper take on the fall, so be ready to turn the fish away from structure.
- Blade tuning — Hang a small blade off the assist eye for flash in dirty deep water, but keep it small so it does not slow the sink rate you paid for.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Deep-reef grouper (kerapu), coral trout and red snapper (ikan merah) on the drift off Rompin and eastern Indonesia.
- North America — Gag and red grouper, amberjack and snapper on Gulf and Atlantic wrecks; lingcod and large Pacific rockfish.
- Japan & East Asia — Large hata (grouper) and kue on deep rock, plus buri and hiramasa where a heavy soft bait follows water a metal jig has already covered.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Coral trout and kingfish on Australian reefs; hamour and cobia over Gulf wrecks; ling and pollack on European deep marks.
