How To Build With It
- Sizing the stripper for PE — On a heavy spinning build put the 30 mm closest to the reel so the cone off a 6000–14000 spool is gathered without slapping the frame; drop to 25 mm on smaller reels.
- Fast reduction, then a long run — Take the cone down quickly through 25 and 20 mm, then run 16, 12 and 10 mm the length of the blank so line is already near-straight well before the tip.
- Building for two jobs — If the rod will troll as well as cast, static-test at the deeper trolling curve rather than the casting curve; that is the arc the frames spend the most hours in.
- Wrapping heavy feet — Ramp the feet with a flat file until thread climbs without a step, wrap both feet, then finish in two thin epoxy coats.
