Where a plain grub is a body and a tail, the StreakZ Curly TailZ is a proper baitfish: a long, fish-shaped body with a fat minnow shoulder tapering into a curly tail. The result is a swimming grub rather than a bottom-bouncing one — it holds a horizontal, streamlined profile with the tail rolling behind it, so it fishes as a small swimbait on a straight retrieve or darts when jerked. A deep belly hook pocket runs the length of the underside for easy rigging and clean hooksets, and the long body suits a Carolina rig, trailing behind the weight and working on its own. How To Fish It

• Swimbait retrieve — On a 1/8–3/8 oz jig head, count down and wind steadily so the body tracks level and the tail rolls behind it. Vary depth rather than speed until you find fish.
• Carolina rig — Run a bullet weight, bead and swivel above an 18–36 inch leader and drag it slowly along the bottom. The weight kicks up silt and the bait swims above it — the standard way to cover flats, drop-offs and channel edges.
• Erratic jerk retrieve — Wind, then snap the rod tip two or three times so the body darts sideways and the tail whips round. Pause after each burst; takes come as it settles.
• Lift and drop — Hop the jig head off sand or mud and let it glide down on semi-slack line, watching for the line to jump.

• Southeast Asia — Barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack around river mouths and jetty pilings, hampala barb (sebarau) and peacock bass in reservoirs, plus queenfish and small trevally over flats.
• North America — Redfish, flounder and speckled trout on the East and Gulf coasts; largemouth and smallmouth bass on a Carolina rig over flats and points; walleye on reservoir structure.
• Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) from estuary shorelines, hirame and flathead (kochi) from surf beaches, and rockfish (mebaru, kasago) around breakwaters.
