Z-Man StreakZ 3.75" x 6Pcs / 5" x 5Pcs Soft Lure Soft Bait
StreakZ is Z-Man's slim soft jerkbait — a potbelly minnow body that tapers to a thin tail, built to dart like a fleeing baitfish rather than swim on a steady wind. The 5" is the fuller-bodied version with a thin pintail and a deep belly slot for weedless rigging; the 3.75" is the finesse size, a split-tail baitfish with moulded gill plate detail that Z-Man rates as tough enough to stay on the hook when nose-hooked for drop-shotting. Both are moulded in ElaZtech, which Z-Man rates as buoyant and at 10X the durability of ordinary soft plastic, so an unweighted bait hangs in the water column on the pause instead of sinking away — the hover that makes a jerkbait work in clear or pressured water. Two sizes, eighteen colours each.
Key Features
- Potbelly minnow profile with a thin tail for a darting, fleeing-baitfish action
- 5": thin pintail with a deep belly slot for weedless rigging and clean hooksets
- 3.75": split-tail finesse body with moulded gill plate detail
- Buoyant material, rated by Z-Man to float unweighted, giving a hovering pause
- Fishable weightless, on a jig head, weighted hook, Carolina rig or drop-shot
- ElaZtech, rated by Z-Man at 10X tougher than ordinary soft plastic; holds up when nose-hooked
- Two sizes: 3.75" (6 per pack) and 5" (5 per pack)
How To Fish It
- Weightless twitch — Rig Texas-style on a wide-gap hook, drop the rod tip and give two or three sharp downward twitches with slack in the line so the bait darts side to side, then stop. Hold the pause; the bait hovers and that is when fish commit.
- Drop-shot (3.75") — Nose-hook it above a 1/4–3/8 oz drop-shot weight and shake the rod tip in place over deep structure. This is the classic presentation for smallmouth and for pressured fish holding tight to the bottom.
- Weighted hook mid-water — A weighted swimbait hook or a light bullet weight holds the bait deeper in current or wind while keeping the same twitch-pause cadence.
- Jig head and vertical jigging — On a 1/8–3/8 oz head, lift and let it flutter back on a controlled line over reef, rock and deep timber for seatrout, redfish, walleye and perch.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack twitched along mangrove roots and river mouths on the tide; hampala barb (sebarau) and giant snakehead (toman) over reservoir margins; small grouper and queenfish off rock walls.
- North America — Smallmouth bass on the drop-shot in clear lakes and rivers, largemouth on the weightless twitch through grass; walleye jigged vertically; inshore speckled trout, redfish and flounder on a light jig head.
- Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) from estuary and harbour shorelines, largemouth bass (blackbass) in clear reservoirs, and rockfish (mebaru, kasago) on light game tackle.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Flathead, bream and Australian bass in estuaries, barramundi in the north; perch, zander and pike in European lakes and canals, cast or fished vertically; queenfish and grouper on Gulf flats.
