Z-Man Saw Tail WormZ 6" x 6pcs Soft Lure Soft Bait

The Saw Tail WormZ is a 6" ribbon-style worm with a serrated, saw-edged tail section moulded in Z-Man's ElaZtech material. Because ElaZtech is naturally buoyant, the worm does not lie flat and dead on the bottom the way a plastisol worm does — rigged weightless, wacky or on a Carolina rig it stands up off the substrate and the saw tail waves in the smallest current. That standing posture keeps the profile in a predator's field of view while the rig sits still. Z-Man rates ElaZtech at up to 10X the durability of ordinary soft plastic, so one worm survives several fish. Supplied six baits per pack in six colours.

How To Fish It

• Texas rig — Peg a 3.5–10 g bullet weight, rig weedless on a 3/0–4/0 offset hook and work it into laydowns, stumps and sparse grass. Shake it on a slack line and let the buoyant tail work.
• Carolina rig — Run a 10–21 g weight ahead of a 50–90 cm leader. Drag it along the bottom in slow pulls; the worm rides above, standing up in the disturbed silt.
• Weightless and wacky — Hook it through the middle on a light wide-gap hook and let it fall on slack line under docks and overhanging cover — both ends flutter as it sinks.
• Drop-shot — Nose-hook it above a 5–14 g sinker for vertical work over rock and timber, shaking the rod tip without moving the weight.

• Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) and hampala barb (sebarau) worked weedless through flooded reservoir timber, plus barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack tight to mangrove roots and jetty pilings.
• North America — Largemouth bass on Texas and Carolina rigs around docks, brush and grass edges, smallmouth bass on a drop-shot over rock, plus striped bass in brackish creeks.
• Japan & East Asia — Black bass in Japanese reservoirs and canals, where buoyant worms are a staple of finesse rigs such as the neko rig and the wacky fall.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, golden perch and Murray cod around timber; perch and zander in European canals on a drop-shot; bream and small grouper around Gulf harbour walls.
