The RaZor ShadZ is a big-bodied soft shad with a segmented, fish-shaped body and a forked tail, and it does two jobs. Rigged weightless on a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook it becomes a floating/diving soft jerkbait: the bait sits on the surface at rest, and the broad sloped head drives it down and sideways when twitched, then lets it rise slowly again on the pause. That dive-and-float cycle is difficult to get from any other soft plastic. Its second job is as a bladed swim jig trailer, where the bulkier body imitates full-bodied forage such as bream, shad and herring without choking the blade's action. A belly slot and a moulded dorsal pocket seat the hook point for weedless work through cover. Z-Man rates the ElaZtech construction at 10X the durability of ordinary soft plastic. How To Fish It

• Weightless float and dive — Rig Texas-style on an unweighted 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook. Two or three sharp downward twitches drive the bait under and dart it sideways; stop and let it rise back toward the surface. Most fish take it on the rise.
• Bladed jig trailer — Slide it onto a 3/8–1/2 oz bladed jig, nose tight against the head, and wind steadily. Bump grass edges, timber and rock to draw reaction bites.
• Swim jig over cover — Behind a swim jig it widens the profile and slows the fall; work it along grass lines, laydowns and mangrove roots.
• Weighted swim — Add a light bullet weight or use a weighted swimbait hook to hold the bait deeper in current or wind, keeping the same twitch-and-pause cadence.

Target Species By Region

• Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) and peacock bass twitched over reservoir margins and weed edges; barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack along mangrove roots and river mouths on the tide; queenfish over shallow flats.
• North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on a ChatterBait or swim jig trailer through grass and timber; redfish and snook on the weightless float-and-dive around docks and marsh drains; stripers and pike on open-water flats.
• Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) from estuary and harbour shorelines, largemouth bass (blackbass) in reservoirs, and larger rockfish around structure.
