Z-Man MinnowZ 3" x 6Pcs Soft Lure Soft Bait
The MinnowZ is Z-Man's small-profile paddle tail: a meaty body with a moulded-in scale pattern tapering quickly to a thin tail joint, finished with a broad rectangular paddle. That thin joint is the point of the design — the tail kicks hard on a slow wind and keeps working when the retrieve is burned. A split dorsal fin gives a channel for weedless rigging, or the hook point can be brought straight out for a jig head. Z-Man rates ElaZtech at 10X the durability of ordinary soft plastic and rates it as buoyant, so a paused bait sits tail-up rather than flat. Supplied 3" long, six per pack.
Key Features
- Broad rectangular paddle tail on a thin joint for a tight, hard kick
- Works on both slow and fast retrieves
- Moulded-in scale pattern on a meaty baitfish body
- Split dorsal fin for weedless rigging or straight jig head placement
- ElaZtech, rated by Z-Man at 10X tougher than ordinary soft plastic
- Buoyant material holds a natural tail-up posture on the pause
- 3" body, 6 per pack
How To Fish It
- ChatterBait trailer — Slide it onto a 1/4–1/2 oz bladed jig, nose against the head, so the tail tracks straight behind the blade. Wind steadily and let the rod tip absorb the thump; deflect it off timber and rock for a reaction bite.
- Jig head straight retrieve — Fish a 1/8–1/4 oz head, count it down, then wind slowly and steadily so the tail keeps thumping past structure.
- Swim jig and spinnerbait trailer — Add it behind a swim jig or spinnerbait to widen the profile and slow the fall on the pause.
- Weedless over cover — Rig on a weighted swimbait hook through the dorsal slot and swim it over grass, oyster bars and mangrove roots.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) and giant snakehead (toman) on a bladed jig in reservoirs, barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack on a jig head around jetty pilings and river mouths, plus queenfish over flats.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on a ChatterBait trailer through grass and shallow timber, stripers on reservoir flats and tailraces, and inshore redfish, speckled trout, snook and flounder on a light jig head over grass and marsh drains; crappie on the smallest heads.
- Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) from estuary shorelines, rockfish (mebaru, kasago) on light game gear, and flathead or small hirame from sandy beaches.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Flathead, bream and Australian bass in estuaries, barramundi in the north; perch, zander and pike on European lakes and canals; queenfish on Gulf flats.
