Z-Man LizardZ 6" x 6Pcs Soft Lure Soft Bait
The LizardZ is the traditional bass lizard rebuilt in ElaZtech: a smooth body with four natural-swimming legs and a long curly tail, soft enough to keep moving on a dead-slow drag. The lizard profile matters because it reads to a bass as a nest raider, drawing territorial strikes from fish that ignore a baitfish imitation. Z-Man salt-impregnates the material and rates it as buoyant, so on a Texas or Carolina rig the legs and tail lift and wave above the sinker rather than collapsing on the bottom. Z-Man rates the construction at 10X tougher than conventional soft plastic. Supplied 6", six per pack, made in the USA.
Key Features
- Smooth 6" lizard body with four swimming legs and a long curly tail
- Buoyant material lifts legs and tail off the bottom on a Carolina or Texas rig
- Salt-impregnated for taste and added casting weight
- ElaZtech, rated by Z-Man at 10X tougher than conventional soft plastic
- Suits Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, shaky heads and jig trailer use
- 6" body, 6 per pack, five colors, made in the USA
How To Fish It
- Carolina rig — Run a 1/2–1 oz sinker, bead and swivel, then a 60–120 cm leader to a 3/0–4/0 offset hook. Drag it slowly across points, humps and gravel flats with long rod sweeps, pausing so the buoyant lizard settles with its legs still moving.
- Texas rig for bedding fish — Peg a 1/4–3/8 oz bullet weight and pitch it into visible beds and shallow cover through the spawn. Shake it in place rather than moving it away — a nest-guarding bass attacks out of aggression, not hunger.
- Shaky head — On a 1/4 oz shaky head around docks and laydowns, the tail and legs quiver on slack line with almost no rod movement.
- Jig trailer — Trim the nose and thread it onto a football or flipping jig to bulk the profile and slow the fall through deep rock.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Peacock bass and giant snakehead (toman) Texas-rigged through flooded timber and weed, hampala barb (sebarau) on Carolina-rigged reservoir points.
- North America — Largemouth bass through the spawn on Texas-rigged beds in southern reservoirs and Florida lakes, and Carolina-rigged on offshore points and ledges from late spring onward; smallmouth and spotted bass on rock and gravel; pickerel around weed edges.
- Japan & East Asia — Largemouth bass at Lake Biwa and Kasumigaura, Texas-rigged in shallow cover during the spawn and dragged on rocky breaklines after.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Murray cod, golden perch and saratoga on Texas rigs around snags and lilies; pike, perch and zander dragged over European weed beds and gravel bars.
