YOZURI - SASHIMI 3D POPPER 90mm/120mm FLOATING R1070/R1071 POPPING TOPWATER
Yozuri Sashimi 3D Popper 90mm / 120mm Floating R1070 / R1071
The Sashimi 3D Popper is a bluewater chugger built for open-water popping rather than estuary surface work. A wide, deeply scooped mouth throws a heavy column of water and leaves a long bubble trail, which is what pulls pelagics up from depth over a reef edge. The body is through-wire from nose to tail and carries 3X strong trebles on heavy split rings, so the whole lure is rated for fish that straighten standard hardware. Yo-Zuri's patented internal 3D Prism Finish is sealed inside the body, giving flash from every angle without a coating that chips off. Two sizes cover the job: R1070 at 90mm and 24g for inshore and mid-size pelagics, R1071 at 120mm and 42g for offshore popping.

- 3X strong treble hooks with heavy-duty split rings
- Patented internal 3D Prism Finish reflecting light in all directions
- Four colour patterns: CPBK, CPDR, CPFF, CPPM
How To Fish It
- Long-pull chug — Point the rod tip at the water, sweep the butt down and back in a long stroke so the cup grabs and blows out a big pop, wind up the slack, then pause two to three seconds. This is the standard GT retrieve and the pause is where most eats happen.
- Continuous bloop — Shorter, faster strokes with no dead stop, keeping the lure spitting the whole way in. Use it when queenfish and small trevally are chopping bait on the surface and want speed.
- Work the structure edge — Cast onto the shallow side of a reef edge, bommie or current line and pop back across the drop-off. Fish often commit in the last few metres, so do not stop at the boat.
- Do not strike early — On a boil that misses, keep popping. Only lean into the fish once the rod loads.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Giant trevally (gerepoh) over reef edges off Rompin, Terengganu and the Anambas, queenfish (talang) and Spanish mackerel (tenggiri) on bait schools, plus barracuda and small tuna around FADs.
- North America — Striped bass and bluefish in the surf and along rips, jack crevalle and false albacore inshore, and dorado, tuna and roosterfish from a boat.
- Japan & East Asia — Offshore popping for GT and yellowtail (buri / hiramasa) around the Izu and Ogasawara islands and Okinawa, and shore-based casting for large seabass and trevally.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — GT, queenfish, longtail tuna and Spanish mackerel across northern Australia and the Gulf; bluefish, leerfish and amberjack on Mediterranean and Atlantic rock marks.
