YOZURI - [HP]ROLLING SWIVEL FISHING SWIVEL MADE IN JAPAN
Yo-Zuri [HP] Rolling Swivel, Made In Japan
The [HP] Rolling Swivel is Yo-Zuri's high-performance take on the plainest piece of terminal tackle there is: two eyes and a barrel that turns. It is the connector most rigs are built around — it joins braid to leader, stops a spinning bait or a rotating lure from winding twist back onto the spool, and gives a running sinker something solid to stop against. Yo-Zuri build it from stainless steel with a black nickel finish, which is the combination that matters in salt: the steel resists corrosion, the coating adds a second barrier and dulls the shine. The body is deliberately compact, so it passes through guides and sits in a rig without adding bulk or drag. This is the standard small pack — four sizes, six or eight pieces each, the version to buy when you want a size in the box rather than a season's supply of it.
Key Features
- High-performance rolling design giving smooth 360-degree rotation and preventing line twist under load
- Premium stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance in salt and fresh water
- Compact body with a high strength-to-weight ratio — minimal drag without giving up power
- Black nickel finish for a subdued underwater appearance and added corrosion protection
- Smooth line flow that reduces line stress and tangles and keeps lure or bait action natural
- Maker-stated tensile strength up to 95 kg on the J517 (size #1)
- Four sizes, #1 through #6, covering light casting up to heavier inshore work
- Made in Japan by Yo-Zuri (Duel Japan)
How To Rig It
- Main line to leader — Braid to the top eye on a Palomar, leader to the bottom eye on a uni knot. Wet both knots before seating them; a dry knot burns against a hard eye and fails early.
- Above a running sinker — Thread the sinker on the main line, add a bead, then tie the swivel below it. The lead runs above the knot, so a fish moving off with the bait feels far less resistance.
- Anything that rotates — Fit one ahead of a spinner, a spoon, a rotating trolled lure or a whole dead bait. If twist still reaches the reel, add a second swivel a metre further up the leader.
- Size to the leader, not the fish — Step up as leader diameter and drag setting increase. The swivel should never be the thinnest link in the chain, and an oversized one on light line only adds drag.
- Small pack or value pack — Take this pack to carry two or three sizes without committing to bulk, or to try a size before standardising on it. Take the 50-piece Value Pack of the same swivel for the one or two sizes you rig with constantly.

Recommended Pairing
- #6 and #4 for light spinning, ultralight game and estuary bait outfits in the 6–20 lb class
- #2 and #1 for inshore lure casting, bottom fishing and light trolling on 20–50 lb line
- Pair with a rated snap or split ring where the terminal end is changed often, so the swivel itself stays tied in
- Check rotation before each session — hold both eyes and spin; a barrel stiff with salt and grit is doing no work at all
