YOZURI - CRYSTAL MINNOW LONG CAST 70mm/90mm/110mm/130mm SINKING F948/F949/F950/F951 CASTING LURE
Yozuri Crystal Minnow Long Cast 70mm / 90mm / 110mm / 130mm Sinking F948 / F949 / F950 / F951
The Crystal Minnow Long Cast is the distance-focused version of the Crystal Minnow: a slim sinking body with an internal weight system that shifts rearward on the cast so the lure flies nose-first instead of helicoptering. That matters when you are casting off a beach, breakwall or rock platform into wind and the fish sit beyond comfortable range. Because it sinks, the same lure covers the top metre on a fast retrieve or drops into a gutter on a count-down. Four sizes run from 70mm and 9g for light estuary tackle up to 130mm and 29g for surf and offshore casting.
Key Features
- Sinking casting minnow in four sizes with a weight system shifted rearward for distance
- Tight wobble with an erratic darting recovery after a twitch
- Internal steel skeleton with saltwater-grade split rings and trebles
- Six colour patterns across the range
How To Fish It
- Count down to the layer — Cast, then count the lure down before winding. A one or two count keeps it just under the surface; a longer count puts it in a gutter or over a drop-off. Repeat the count that produces fish.
- Steady swim — A medium unbroken retrieve keeps the wobble running true. Best starting retrieve at dawn, dusk and in coloured water.
- Twitch and pause — Two or three taps of the rod tip, then stop and let it sink level. The dart-then-drop sequence triggers followers that will not eat a straight retrieve.
- Work the wash and tide line — Cast past a breaking bank, rock wash or current seam and bring the lure through the turbulence into the calm water behind it.
- Match size to the target — 70mm and 90mm for estuary and light shore work, 110mm for general surf and jetty fishing, 130mm for big baitfish or maximum distance.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) on the small sizes in reservoir arms, barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack around jetties and rock walls, queenfish (talang), barracuda and Spanish mackerel (tenggiri) on the larger sizes.
- North America — Smallmouth and largemouth bass, trout and white bass on 70mm and 90mm; striped bass, bluefish, redfish and speckled trout on 110mm and 130mm.
- Japan & East Asia — Japanese seabass (suzuki) from breakwaters and river mouths, trout and blackbass on the small sizes, and hirame and kochi from surf beaches on the larger ones.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Bream, flathead and Australian bass in estuaries, tailor and salmon off the beaches; queenfish and barracuda on Gulf coasts; sea bass, bluefish, perch, zander and pike across Europe.
