Yozuri 3DR Popper 75mm R1305 Floating Fishing Lure

The Yo-Zuri 3DR Popper is a 75 mm floating surface lure built around a deep concave mouth that pushes a heavy volume of water on every pull. At 10 g it loads a light rod properly and casts a long way for its size, which matters when fish hold off a bank and will not come close. It sits horizontally at rest like an injured baitfish, so the pause between pops does as much work as the pop. Made in Japan and supplied as genuine Yo-Zuri stock in colours RBG and RGZS.

How To Fish It

• Pop and pause — Point the rod tip down, pull sharply to make one loud pop, then leave the lure dead still for two to four seconds. Lengthen the pause in calm conditions and shorten it when fish are actively chasing bait.
• Continuous spitting — Short, fast pulls in a run of four or five so the lure spits and chugs without moving far. Good for calling fish up over a reef edge or a submerged snag.
• Walk-the-dog — Slack the line slightly and give rhythmic downward taps of the rod tip; the body will swing side to side between pops. Useful when a loud pop is spooking fish.
• Dawn and dusk edges — Work it tight to mangrove roots, rock walls and jetty shadow lines in the first and last hour of light, on a moving tide rather than slack water.

• Southeast Asia — Barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack (jenahak) along mangrove edges, queenfish (talang) and small trevally off rock walls and jetties, plus hampala barb (sebarau) and giant snakehead (toman) in reservoirs.
• North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass, striped bass and white bass in freshwater; speckled trout, redfish, snook and small jacks on inshore flats.
• Japan & East Asia — Seabass (suzuki) and small blue runners on light shore casting, plus black bass on reservoir topwater sessions.
• Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, barramundi and giant herring in the north; queenfish and small barracuda on Gulf flats; asp, perch, chub and pike across European rivers and lakes.

• Carry spare size #6 trebles and split rings for salt water use
