SFT Almighty Head Saltwater Jig Head 40g / 60g

The SFT Almighty Head is a skirted saltwater jig head that covers casting, boat fishing and vertical jigging with one design. The streamlined, fish-profile head carries a glow-style 3D eye for a clear strike point in deep or colored water, while the silicone skirt and long trailing strands keep pulsing even when the jig sits still. Its real strength is rigging flexibility: it takes a paddle-tail swimbait, a concealed hook point for snag-prone ground, an exposed single or treble, or the supplied assist hook for vertical work. Listed in 40 g and 60 g.

Key Features

  • Versatile saltwater jig head for casting, boat fishing and vertical jigging
  • Silicone skirt with extended strands for vibration and a baitfish-like profile
  • Glow-style 3D eye for visibility in darker and deeper water
  • Designed to be matched with paddle-tail swimbaits and other soft plastics
  • Concealed weedless-style point, exposed single, treble or assist-hook rigging
  • Angled, snag-reducing head profile with reinforced attachment eyes

How To Fish It

  • Vertical jigging — Drop to bottom and work one-pitch-one-jerk: one sharp rod lift per turn of the handle, rhythm kept even. Bites come mostly on the fall, so stay in contact on a semi-tight line.
  • Touch and go on the bottom — The moment you feel bottom, wind two or three turns. Letting it sit is how jigs are lost on reef, and the quick lift triggers grouper holding on structure.
  • Cast and swim — Rig a paddle-tail, cast across the current and wind slowly so the tail thumps and the skirt trails. Count it down first so you know which depth band you cover.
  • Slow pitch on the drift — Short, slow lifts with the boat drifting, letting the jig hang and flutter between them. Effective on reef fish that will not chase a fast jig.

Choosing the weight. Use the lightest head that still holds bottom. 40 g suits shallower water, slack tide and light wind; 60 g is for deeper water, hard-running tide, a fast drift, or wind putting a bow in the line. If the braid streams out at a sharp angle instead of falling near vertical, go heavier.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Grouper (kerapu) and snapper (merah) on reef ground, barramundi (siakap) around jetty pylons, queenfish (talang) and trevally (gerepoh) on the drop.
  • North America — Grouper, snapper and amberjack over Gulf and Atlantic reef, plus striped bass and lingcod worked vertically on rock.
  • Japan & East Asia — Rockfish such as kasago, plus hirame and buri on light boat jigging tackle and slow pitch work over reef edges.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Kingfish, queenfish and snapper on Australian inshore lumps, hamour on Gulf marks, pollack and cod over European rough ground.
