Santec Swim Shad 2" / 3" Soft Plastic Lure
The Santec Swim Shad is a paddle-tail soft plastic built to imitate the small baitfish that predators feed on in both fresh and salt water. The ribbed body holds scent and traps air for a subtle sound signature, while the boot tail starts kicking at very slow speeds — useful when fish are shut down and a hard lure is moving too fast. Supplied in 2" and 3" bodies across nine colour patterns, it covers everything from clear-water finesse work to stained reservoir edges. The soft, slotted belly takes a jig head or weedless hook cleanly and gives good hook exposure on the strike.
Key Features
- Paddle-tail (boot tail) profile that swims at low retrieve speeds
- Ribbed body for extra vibration and scent retention
- Two sizes: 2" for finesse and light tackle, 3" for larger predators
- Nine colour patterns covering clear, stained and low-light water
- Soft body for easy hook penetration on light gear
- Rigs on jig heads, weedless worm hooks, or as a jig/blade trailer
How To Fish It
- Straight retrieve on a jig head — Cast, let the lure sink to the depth holding fish, then wind slowly and steadily so the tail keeps thumping. Most strikes come as the lure passes structure.
- Lift and drop — Raise the rod tip to 10 o'clock and let the lure flutter back on a semi-slack line. Bites usually happen on the fall, so watch the line.
- Weedless over cover — Rig on an offset worm hook and swim it over weed beds, submerged timber or mangrove roots where a treble-hooked lure would foul.
- Trailer — Add it behind a spinnerbait, chatterbait or jig head to increase the profile and give a slow-falling action.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau), peacock bass, giant snakehead (toman), barramundi (siakap) around jetties and mangrove edges, and small grouper or queenfish off rock walls.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye, striped bass, and inshore redfish, speckled trout and flounder on a jig head.
- Japan & East Asia — Rockfish (mebaru, kasago) and small seabass on light game tackle, plus flathead and small hirame from sandy beaches.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, flathead and bream in estuaries; perch, zander and pike in European lakes and canals; smaller queenfish and grouper on Gulf flats.
