Santec Spoon Kit 7g / 10g 5pcs Sebarau Fishing
This Santec kit packs five casting spoons into one case, in 7g or 10g. A casting spoon is one of the simplest lures in a tackle box: the curved blade wobbles and flashes on a straight retrieve, needs no rod work, and casts a long way for its size. That distance matters on open reservoirs and river mouths where fish hold beyond a light plug's range. The 7g suits lighter tackle and shallower water; the 10g casts further and holds better in current.
Model 35871. Pcs / Case: 5pcs. Sizes: 7g and 10g.
Key Features
- Five spoons per case, in 7g or 10g
- Wobbling, flashing action on a straight retrieve
- Compact, dense body for long casts
- For fresh and brackish water
- Marketed locally in Malaysia for sebarau (hampala barb) fishing
How To Fish It
- Cast and steady wind — Cast across or slightly upstream, let it sink a moment, then wind at a steady pace. You should feel a constant tapping through the rod; if it feels dead, change speed.
- Count down — Let the spoon sink on a counted pause before winding, adding a count each cast. The 10g is better for deeper pools and moving water.
- Swing through current — At a river inflow, cast up and across and let the current swing the spoon around on a semi-tight line. Fish at the seam hit at the end of the swing.
- Lift and flutter — Over deeper structure, lift the rod tip and let the spoon flutter back. Most takes come on the drop.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — The primary use: hampala barb (sebarau) in reservoir arms, inflows and rapids, where a spoon swung through current is a long-standing local method. Also peacock bass, giant snakehead (toman), jungle perch and queenfish.
- North America — Trout, salmon, pike, walleye and smallmouth bass in lakes and rivers.
- Japan & East Asia — Trout in managed ponds and mountain streams (area trout fishing), plus rockfish from breakwaters.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass and saratoga in impoundments; pike, perch and zander in European rivers; small trevally along Gulf shorelines.
