Santec Soft Attack Dash Hopper 3" / 4" Soft Plastic
The Dash Hopper is the finesse end of the Santec Soft Attack soft plastic range, supplied in 3" and 4" bodies and packed twelve pieces to a bag. It is built for the point in a session where the fish are still there but have already watched a hard lure go past, and the answer is a smaller, quieter bait worked slowly in one spot. The compact body takes a light jig head, an offset worm hook or a drop-shot hook without bulking up, so the whole presentation stays light enough for 4–10 lb line. Ten colours run from pearl white and silver green to bright chartreuse and orange, covering clear reservoir water, stained rivers and dirty post-rain edges.
Key Features
- Two lengths, 3" and 4", for scaling down to pressured fish
- Twelve pieces per pack
- Ten colour patterns including natural, fluorescent and two-tone finishes
- Soft body for good hook penetration on light line and light rods
- Rigs on jig heads, offset worm hooks, drop-shot hooks or as a trailer
How To Fish It
- Light jig head drag — Rig the 3" on a 1–3 g head, cast to the edge of structure and drag it back along the bottom in short pulls with long pauses. The first thing to try when fish refuse a moving lure.
- Drop shot — Nose-hook the bait 20–40 cm above the sinker and shake the rod tip on a tight line without moving the weight. Best over rock, timber and deep jetty pilings.
- Weightless skip — Rig the 4" weightless on a worm hook and skip it under overhanging trees, pontoons and moored boats, then let it sink on slack line.
- Small trailer — Add it behind a compact jig or small bladed lure to slow the fall and lift the profile.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) and peacock bass on reservoir points, snakehead (haruan) along weed edges, and small mangrove jack, grouper and trevally around jetties and rock walls.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass on drop shot and shaky head, crappie and perch around brush piles, plus speckled trout and small redfish inshore.
- Japan & East Asia — Mebaru and kasago on light rockfish tackle, aji on a light head, and small seabass in harbours and canals.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Bream, whiting and flathead in estuaries; perch and zander in European canals; small hamour and bream on Gulf inshore structure.
