Santec MINNOW Paddle / Curly / Grub Tail PVC Soft Plastic 50mm – 60mm Light Game Series
The Santec Soft Plastic Bait Series is designed to imitate the appearance, flexibility and underwater movement of small natural prey. Made from soft, elastic PVC, each lure bends and moves naturally on the retrieve while resisting tearing under aggressive bites, and the ribbed body adds vibration that helps predators find it in clear or lightly stained water. A natural scent is built in so fish hold on longer, and every container holds 20 baits plus a jig hook, ready to rig out of the box. Three tail designs are offered and they are not interchangeable — each covers a different retrieve speed, so pick the tail first and the color mix second.
Key Features
- Soft, elastic PVC — flexible but resistant to tearing
- Ribbed body for extra vibration and water movement
- Natural scented formula so fish hold the bait longer
- Three tail designs: Paddle 50 mm, Curly 55 mm, Grub 60 mm
- 20 baits per container, jig hook included
- Three mixed-color assortments (Type A, B, C) per tail and size
How To Fish It
- Minnow Paddle Tail 50 mm — the search bait — Fish it on a 1–3 g jig head, count down, then wind steadily. The boot tail thumps on a straight retrieve, so it covers water and tells you where the fish are. Use it first on an unfamiliar jetty, drain or flat.
- Minnow Curly Tail 55 mm — the slow bait — The curl keeps rolling at speeds where a paddle tail goes dead. Lift the rod tip, then let it fall on a controlled slack line; the tail spins on the drop, which is where most light-game bites happen.
- Minnow Grub Tail 60 mm — the subtle bait — The biggest body and the most restrained action, so it is the drop shot and dead-stick option. Rig it above a 3–7 g sinker, take up slack until you feel the weight, then shake the rod tip without moving the sinker.
- Ajing and night ports — Around harbour and jetty lights, cast into the dark side of the light line and let the bait drift back with the current, retrieving only enough to stay in touch.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Small barramundi (siakap), grunter, mangrove jack and archerfish around jetties and mangrove edges; small trevally off rock walls.
- North America — Crappie, perch and smallmouth bass on light jig heads; speckled trout and flounder inshore.
- Japan & East Asia — Horse mackerel (aji) on ajing tackle and rockfish (mebaru, kasago) on mebaring around harbours — the core use for this series.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Bream, whiting and flathead in estuaries; perch in European canals; small sea bream on Gulf breakwalls.
