SANTEC - MATA BOM (V2) SPRING /5HOOK 2SET PER PACK
Santec Mata Bom (V2) Spring / 5 Hook, 2 Sets Per Pack
The Santec Mata Bom V2 is a complete mata bom rig, tied and finished, rather than a spring you must build a rig around. A 4.5cm heavy-duty gold-finish spring holds the packed bait, five Iseama-pattern hooks sit around it on individual red leaders, luminous green beads sit beside the spring, and a snap swivel clips the whole thing to your main line in seconds. That matters most to anglers new to the method, to short evening pond sessions where nobody wants to spend the first half hour tying leaders, and to anyone who wants a spare ready when a rig tangles. Two complete rigs per packet, in seven hook sizes.
Key Features
- Complete ready-to-use mata bom rig, no tying required
- Five Iseama-pattern hooks on individual leaders around the feeder
- 4.5cm heavy-duty steel spring, gold-colour finish
- Luminous green beads for low-light and deeper water
- Red leaders keep the rig layout easy to read and untangle
- Snap swivel for quick connection to the main line
How To Fish It
- Straight out of the packet — Clip the snap swivel to your main line below a running lead, pack the spring, cast. Nothing else to assemble, which is why it suits beginners and short pond sessions.
- Getting the bait right — Mix until the dough holds when squeezed but crumbles when rubbed. Press it into the coils from both sides, then smooth the outside so it survives the cast and breaks down slowly.
- Setting the five hooks — Bury two or three points lightly in the paste and leave the others just outside the ball. Do not stretch the leaders out; the hooks should stay inside the feeding patch.
- Building the swim — Cast two or three loaded rigs to one spot to start the patch, recast every ten to fifteen minutes while fish gather, then leave it down once bites begin.
- Care between sessions — Rinse in fresh water, dry, and check the leaders where they meet the spring. Swap to the second rig as soon as a leader looks frayed.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Everyday mata bom fishing at commercial ponds (kolam pancing) and river mouths for walking catfish (keli), patin, tilapia and carp.
- North America — Coil spring and packbait rigs for channel and blue catfish, plus carp on rivers and reservoirs.
- Japan & East Asia — The same idea as dango-zuri, paste bait packed around a rig for carp (koi) and crucian carp (herabuna).
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Method-feeder carp and bream fishing on European lakes, and packbait carp rigs in Gulf canals and dams.
