Santec Knuckle Crankbait Soft Lure 60mm 9g

The Santec Knuckle Soft Crankbait combines the fluidity of soft plastics with the action you expect from a crankbait. The body is soft rather than moulded hard plastic, so it flexes, flutters and bends through the retrieve, giving a more lifelike movement than a rigid crank while still holding the short, deep-bellied crankbait shape that produces a tight wobble. That soft shell also matters at the strike: a fish that grabs it feels give instead of hard plastic, and often holds on a fraction longer, which is the difference between a dropped bait and a hook-up. At 60 mm and 9 g it sits in a useful middle ground — large enough to interest serious predators, small enough to cast on medium tackle and fish in tight water. Seven finishes cover clear through to stained water.

Key Features

  • Soft plastic body in a crankbait profile — soft-lure feel, crankbait action
  • Flexes, flutters and bends for lifelike movement that fools cautious fish
  • Tight, enticing wobble on a steady retrieve
  • 60 mm and 9 g — castable on medium gear, big enough for real predators
  • Works over structure, alongside cover and just above the bottom
  • Fishable with steady cranks, twitch-retrieves, stop-and-go or pump-and-pause
  • Soft body is kinder on fish and on boat gelcoat than a hard plug
  • Seven colours from natural baitfish to high-visibility patterns

How To Fish It

  • Steady crank — Cast past the target, then wind at a constant speed so the body keeps its wobble. Aim to make contact with something — a rock, a stump, a weed edge — because the deflection off cover is what triggers the strike.
  • Stop and go — Crank four or five turns, then stop for a full second. The soft body keeps quivering as it settles, and following fish commit on that hesitation.
  • Pump and pause — Short pumps of the rod tip, winding up the slack between them. This lifts and drops the lure over uneven bottom instead of dragging it straight through.
  • Twitch retrieve — In clear or pressured water, add sharp twitches into a slow wind so the lure breaks sideways out of its rhythm, then resume the steady crank.

Target Species By Region

  • Southeast Asia — Hampala barb (sebarau) on river rock bars, peacock bass and giant snakehead (toman) around reservoir timber, and small barramundi (siakap) and mangrove jack on mangrove edges and jetty pylons.
  • North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass off rock, riprap and laydowns; walleye on lake flats; crappie around deeper brush.
  • Japan & East Asia — Largemouth bass (blackbass) on lake and reservoir structure, plus small seabass and chinu in shallow ports.
  • Australia, Middle East & Europe — Australian bass, sooty grunter and golden perch in impoundments; perch, chub and zander in European rivers and canals.

Recommended Pairing

  • Medium spinning or baitcasting rod with a moderate action — a soft tip loads on the wobble and keeps hooks in on the head-shake
  • 10–20 lb braid or PE 1–1.5 with a 15–25 lb fluorocarbon leader; fluorocarbon helps the lure run a touch deeper than mono
  • Add a short wire trace where snakehead, barracuda or mackerel are likely
