Santec Flott Hopp 35mm / 45mm 4.5g / 6.5g Soft Frog Lure Floating
The Santec Flott Hopp is a weedless topwater frog developed for fishing through heavy vegetation, lily pads, grass, reeds and shallow cover. Its soft hollow body gives a natural frog profile while collapsing when a fish bites, exposing the concealed double hooks and improving penetration without sacrificing the snag-resistant shape on the retrieve. Flexible skirt legs create vibration, surface disturbance and visual attraction, and the lure answers a steady retrieve, short twitches or a dead pause beside cover. An integrated weight improves balance and casting distance and helps the frog land upright. This is the two-size page in the Flott Hopp range: 35mm at 4.5g for small openings, canal edges and pressured fish, and 45mm at 6.5g for a larger silhouette and longer casts — both carried across the full ten-colour chart.
Key Features
- Soft, squeezable hollow body that collapses on the strike
- Weedless double-hook configuration with ultra-sharp points
- Integrated weight for balance, casting distance and upright landing
- Flexible skirt-tail action on the move and on the pause
- Two body sizes: 35mm / 4.5g and 45mm / 6.5g
- Ten colour patterns per size
- Plain body with no blade, for a quieter presentation than the bladed 40mm version
How To Fish It
- Walk it over the mat — Wind slowly with rhythmic rod-tip taps so the frog shuffles side to side across matted grass or pads, then stop dead in every open pocket.
- Twitch and pause on the edge — Work it parallel to a weed line or reed bank rather than casting straight at cover, so the lure stays in the strike zone for longer.
- Match the size to the water — Use 35mm in clear, shallow or heavily fished water where fish are refusing bigger baits; step up to 45mm in stained water, wind or when you need casting distance.
- Delay the hookset — Let the line come tight before you set, then sweep low and hard to drive the hooks through the collapsing body and skate the fish over the weed.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) and striped snakehead (haruan) in flooded grass and lily pads, peacock bass on reservoir margins, barramundi (siakap) in mangrove drains and shallow canals.
- North America — Largemouth bass in matted vegetation and pads; chain pickerel and bowfin in weedy backwaters.
- Japan & East Asia — Largemouth bass (blackbass) on lake and reservoir weed beds, with the 35mm suited to the finesse-frog approach on pressured water.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Saratoga, sooty grunter and Australian bass in weedy northern impoundments; pike and perch over European weed beds in summer.
