The Santec Santa Tropica Buzz Frog is a high attraction topwater lure engineered to create loud surface noise, heavy vibration and a wide splashing wake. It's hard resin frog-shaped body provides a durable, stable profile, while the large rotating buzz blade churns the surface throughout the retrieve. A metal knocking component works together with the blade to produce additional sound, helping predatory fish locate the lure from a greater distance. A flexible silicone skirt pulses and flares behind the body as it travels, and two rear-facing hooks give strong coverage when fish attack from behind or underneath. At 24g this is the heaviest and noisiest frog in the Santec surface range — a searching lure for long casts across shallow banks, weed edges, submerged vegetation and lily pads, where you need to cover water and pull fish out of cover rather than pick pockets.

How To Fish It

• Steady buzz retrieve — Cast long, lift the rod tip as it lands and start winding immediately so the blade is turning before the lure sinks. Hold a constant speed; slowing down stalls the blade.
• Bump the cover — Track it so the blade ticks' reeds, pad stems or timber. That momentary change in rhythm is what triggers a fish sitting tight in cover.
• Search a bank — Fan casts along a weed line or shallow bank and cover ground quickly. The noise carries, so you are calling fish in rather than putting the lure on their nose.
• Delay the hookset — Fish often miss a fast-moving buzz bait. Keep winding at the same speed until you feel weight, then sweep low and hard.
