Santec Enkou Elastic 2.5" / 3.5" / 4.5" / 5.5" Soft Bait
Enkou is Santec's elastic soft bait built as a four-step size ladder — 2.5", 3.5", 4.5" and 5.5" — so the same lure and the same twelve colors match whatever bait size the fish are eating that day. The elastic compound stretches rather than tearing when a hook is driven through it, so one body takes fish after fish instead of splitting at the slot. Black flakes and true dark suit clear water, hot tiger and crown tiger suit-stained rivers, and three glow and UV patterns cover deep water and night sessions.
Key Features
- Four lengths from 2.5" to 5.5" for matching local bait size
- Twelve colors in every size, so a proven pattern scales up or down
- Elastic body compound that stretches instead of tearing at the hook slot
- Two glow patterns and a UV pattern for deep water and low light
How To Fish It
- Slow roll on a jig head — Count down to the fish and wind just fast enough to feel the body loading against the rod tip. If you cannot feel it, you are winding too slowly to draw a strike.
- Jig trailer on the assist — Thread a 2.5" or 3.5" body onto the assist hook of a slow-pitch or inchiku jig, adding a soft breathing tail on the fall without killing the metal's flutter.
- Vertical lift and glide — Straight under the boat, lift the rod a metre and follow the lure down with the tip so it glides rather than drops. Take up slack and set on any tick.
- Night glow work — Charge the glow patterns under a torch for ten seconds before every drop, and recharge whenever a retrieve comes back untouched.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — 2.5"–3.5" for hampala barb (sebarau), peacock bass and small grouper; 4.5"–5.5" for barramundi (siakap), giant snakehead (toman) and queenfish off rock walls.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye and striped bass on the smaller sizes; lake trout, pike and inshore redfish on the larger bodies.
- Japan & East Asia — Mebaru and kasago on the 2.5" in light rock game, hirame and hata on the 4.5"–5.5" over sand and rough ground, plus glow bodies as assist dressing for slow-pitch jigging.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Flathead, bream and Australian bass in estuaries; hamour and Gulf emperor on the bigger sizes; pike, zander and perch in European lakes.
