Santec 3 Layer Keeper Net With Float

A three-tier keeper net for holding fish, shrimp, crabs or live bait in the water while you keep fishing. Steel wire rings hold each layer open under water, so the net cannot collapse and press the catch together the way a plain mesh sack does. Red floats on the upper ring keep the mouth near the surface, and the top drawstring ties off to a cleat, jetty rail or bank stake. The open green mesh circulates oxygenated water inside, and the frame collapses flat for carrying.

How To Use It

• Setting the depth — Lower the net so the whole body of rings is submerged with only the floated top ring at the surface, and get the bottom layer into the coolest water you can reach. A net hanging half out of the water is how fish are lost.
• Keep it out of the sun and the shallows — Never leave it in warm, shallow, still water in direct sun. Shallow water heats fast and holds little oxygen, and fish can die in it within an hour on a hot day. Set it in the shade of the bank, boat or jetty, and move it if the sun swings round.
• Loading it — Wet your hands first, spread the catch across the layers rather than stacking it in the bottom, and do not overfill. Crowded fish use oxygen quickly and damage each other's scales.
• Before you release — Keep holding times short if fish are going back. Lift slowly, keep them in the water while unhooking, and support a tired fish upright facing the current until it swims off on its own. Fish held too long in warm shallow water will not recover.
