LURESFACTORY - TR CRAZY FROG N SERIES 2.5cm 6g HARDBODY LURE TOPWATER
Luresfactory TR Crazy Frog N Series 2.5cm 6g Hardbody Topwater
At 2.5cm the Crazy Frog (N) is the smallest surface lure in the Lure Factory range, and it is also the only one of these frogs that is really a popper. The front of the body is cut into a concave face that scoops and pushes water when the rod tip is pulled, so instead of walking or waking it pops, spits and splashes on the spot. That matters on small, quiet, heavily fished water: a lure that makes noise without travelling far can work a single pocket or overhang for several seconds, where a bigger frog would already be past it. Despite the short body it carries 6g, so it is dense for its size and casts better than a 2.5cm lure usually does — useful on light tackle. Silicone skirt strands pulse behind the body, and a close-fitting rear double hook keeps hook exposure lower than a treble around light grass, though no lure is completely snag-free.
Key Features
- Compact frog-inspired body, 2.5cm and 6g — the smallest in the range
- Concave front mouth creates popping and splashing action
- Flexible silicone skirt adds movement and vibration
- Close-fitting rear double-hook configuration
- Dense for its length, which helps casting on light gear
- Seven color patterns, 01 to 07
How To Fish It
- Pop and pause — Two or three short downward pulls to make the face spit, then stop for three seconds. The pause is the working part of the retrieve; the skirt keeps moving while the lure sits.
- Work one spot hard — Because it moves little per pop, you can hold it inside a small strike zone — a shaded pocket, a gap in the reeds, the end of a fallen branch — far longer than a larger lure allows.
- Steady popping search — A continuous rhythm of small pops covers a shallow margin quickly and calls fish up from a distance in flat calm.
- Downsize for pressured fish — Where a pond or drain has been fished hard with 4cm and 5cm frogs, the smaller profile often draws a take from fish that only followed the bigger lures.
- Set on weight — Wind through the splash rather than striking at it, wait for the rod to load with the fish, then sweep sideways.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Striped snakehead (haruan) in drains, paddy channels and small ponds; peacock bass in lily pockets; hampala barb (sebarau) in shallow river runs; mangrove jack in narrow creeks.
- North America — Largemouth and smallmouth bass in ponds and creek backwaters, crappie and bluegill on light tackle, chain pickerel in shallow weedy margins.
- Japan & East Asia — Bass in small reservoirs and irrigation ponds, snakehead (raigyo) in narrow canals where a compact popper works in tight water.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Sooty grunter, spangled perch and small saratoga in creek pools; perch, chub and asp in European rivers and canals.

Recommended Pairing
- Light to medium spinning or casting rod that loads with a 6g lure — a heavy frog rod will not work this lure properly
- 1000–2500 size spinning reel, or a baitcaster rated for light lures
- 10–20 lb braid with a short fluorocarbon leader in clear water; step up to 30 lb braid where fish must be lifted from grass
- Keep the rod tip low while popping so the pulls drive the face into the water rather than lifting the lure
