LURESFACTORY - ROWDY FROG 4.0cm 7g SOFT FROG TOPWATER
Luresfactory Rowdy Frog 4.0cm 7g Soft Frog Topwater
The Rowdy Frog is the 4cm, 7g soft topwater frog in the range, rigged on a 1/0 hook and fitted with twin finesse blades. The soft, high-buoyancy body keeps the lure riding on the surface film yet collapses the moment a fish closes on it, so the sharpened 1/0 point is not shielded by the body. The blades supply vibration and a light surface rattle that pulls fish out of thick weed, and the slightly larger 4cm profile casts further and holds up better against wind than the smaller frogs. It suits anglers who want one frog for matted cover, open weed lanes and canal edges.
Key Features
- Topwater soft frog, 4cm and 7g
- 1/0 hook with a sharpened point
- Soft, high-buoyancy body that compresses on the strike
- Lifelike frog appearance and action
- Finesse premium double blades for noise and vibration
- Larger profile in the range for longer, more accurate casts
- Nine colour patterns for clear, stained and low-light water
How To Fish It
- Walk-the-dog frog steps — Rod tip low with slight slack, twitch in a steady rhythm so the frog swings side to side down weed lanes. Snakehead often shadow it for several metres before committing.
- Point-hopping on floating mats — Over duckweed and salvinia, tap the rod tip in short sharp lifts to hop the frog from pocket to pocket, then let it sit dead in each hole for two or three seconds.
- Steady blade wind — In stained water or wind, wind at a constant medium speed so both blades stay turning and leave a bubble trail along drain mouths and canal walls.
- Pause a beat before setting — Do not strike at the splash. Keep winding through the blow-up, wait for the rod to load with the fish's weight, then sweep sideways. This is the single biggest cure for missed frog bites.
- Squeeze the body out — After a fish or a heavy drag through weed, compress the body to expel water and air so it floats correctly again.
Target Species By Region
- Southeast Asia — Giant snakehead (toman) over weeded ponds, ex-mining lakes and reservoir timber; striped snakehead (haruan) in paddy drains and canals; peacock bass in lily pockets; hampala barb (sebarau) on weed lines.
- North America — Largemouth bass frog fishing over pads, hydrilla and matted duckweed; chain pickerel and bowfin in southern backwaters; northern snakehead in tidal rivers.
- Japan & East Asia — Snakehead (raigyo) on matted cover in the traditional raigyo style, catfish (namazu) at dusk, and bass over shallow reservoir weed.
- Australia, Middle East & Europe — Saratoga and barramundi (siakap) in lily-covered billabongs and weedy creek arms; pike and perch over weed in European lakes and canals.
